Barbara Ann Whitehead

Barbara Ann Whitehead, 80, of Leesville, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021. A graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., December 30th at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 7100 Garners Ferry Rd, Columbia, SC 29209. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday December 29th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.

Barbara was born in Virginia, she was an only child of the late Othel D. and Mary Margaret Pack. She lived in Tennesse for many years, later following her first husband to California while he served in the Navy aboard an Air Craft Carrier. Barbara returned to Tennessee to live many more years until her move to South Carolina. She worked for Quincy’s in Lexington, S.C., for quite a few years and was loved by many patrons that were greeted by her infectious smile and friendly demeanor. She met her second husband and they created a wonderful life living in Leesville, S. C. Barbara also worked in the school district in a custodial position until her retirement. She was a loving and dearly loved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom Plowden; three daughters, Cynthia Bain, Kathy Weston, and Sharon Peek. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
