Barbara Bush Kahler

Barbara B. Kahler, wife of J. Barry Kahler, passed away September 26, 2018. Barbara was born on March 24, 1967 in Prosperity, SC to the late Robert Thedo Bush. She was a lifelong resident of Gilbert, SC. Barbara met the love of her life at fifteen years old and they have been inseparable ever since. Barbara and Barry have two daughters, Allison and Jennifer. Barbara loved her family and especially her three granddaughters, Leah, Madeline and Eleanor. Barbara was employed by Lexington School District One for nineteen years. She loved the Lord and helping people. Barbara always put others before herself.

Barbara was predeceased by her father, Robert Thedo Bush. Barbara is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, J. Barry Kahler; two daughters, Allison (Travis) Kyzer and Jennifer (Christian) Fryland; in-laws, Tony and Ruth Ellen Kahler; and three granddaughters, Leah Kyzer, Madeline Kyzer and Eleanor Fryland. She is also survived by two sisters, Roberta and Kathy; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 28 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 29, at Lake Murray Baptist Church with interment following in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (Lexington County) with Rev. Josh Powell officiating. Active pallbearers will be Travis Kyzer, Christian Fryland, Bryson Koon, Petey Bush, Matthew Hinson and Matthew Kahler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Murray Baptist Church, 1001 US-378, Lexington, SC 29072.
