Harry "Jack" Philips Jr.

Harry Jackson "Jack" Philips Jr., 79, of Batesburg, passed away September 8, 2022. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Harry Jackson Philips Sr. and Idalene Parham Estridge. Mr. Philips was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for the S.C. Employment Security Commission for more than 30 years until his retirement. He was an avid golfer, loved the Carolina Gamecocks and his country, but most importantly his grandchildren. Mr. Philips was a member of Summerland Church where he served as a deacon. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Anita B. Philips, of the home; children, Jay Philips, Jessica Frye, and Josh Frye (Karen). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tate, Keiley and Keira.

The service for Mr. Philips will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 11th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Massey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private at West Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
