Micheal Nelson "Red" Padgett

Micheal Nelson "Red" Padgett, 81, of Batesburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late George William Padgett Sr. and Othell Lorrick Padgett. Mr. Padgett worked for SCE&G for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church of Leesville, SC.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Kay Padgett; son, Justin Padgett (Jennifer Derrick); brother, George William Padgett Jr. (Pansy); daughter-in-law, Daphene Padgett; and two grandchildren, Mattie and Wesley Padgett. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Mr. Padgett was preceded in death by a son, Reggie Padgett.
