A memorial service for Alfred Prichard Niver (Al) ,73, of Lexington, will be held of 11 a.m., Saturday April 29th at Faith Lutheran Church in Batesburg, SC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Niver died peacefully Monday, April 25, at MUSC in Charleston after a brief illness. Born in Seneca, SC, he was the son of the late William W. Niver, Jr and Joberta Prichard Niver. He was a retired Industrial Engineer for Lowenstein, Columbia, and a Plant Manager for Milliken, Marion, North Carolina. He was a past Grand Master and active member of Masonic Lodge 138 in Batesburg, SC until his death.
He retired from the 246th Army National Guard Unit after 28 years of service. He was a lifelong and avid fan of the Clemson Tigers’ football team. He loved his pets, and it was mutual.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kaaren Hall Niver, his son ,Timothy Paul (Donna Kay) Niver, and his daughter, Laura Prichard Niver (Grant) Scurry; his grandchildren, Hannah Niver, Connor, and Ella Scurry. He is also survived by his siblings, Ann (Tom) Davis, Ellinor DeYoung, Margaret Rose (Jim) Smith , and Charles (Judy) Niver. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, William W.(Linda) Niver, III and his brother in law, Tom Deyoung.
