Arthur Lewis

Arthur J. Lewis, 79, of Batesburg, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Lewis was born in Aynor, SC, a son of the late Arthur E and Sophie Lilly Lewis. He was married to the late Mary Caroline Lewis. Mr. Lewis served in the United States Navy for four years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying landscaping and having a green thumb.

Surviving are his children, Bill Lewis, Tammy (Ashley Craig) Tompkins, Mark “Hoss” (Melissa) Brewer; daughter-in-law, Andrea Brewer; brother, Chester Lewis; sisters, Patricia (Rick) Meyers, Carolyn Lewis (David Leah); sister-in-law, Sandy Lewis; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Bobby Brewer; daughter, Robin Ziolkowski; and a brother, Johnny Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Milton Shealy Funeral Home, 115 North Pine Street, Batesburg, SC 29006. The family would like to give a special thanks to Compassionate Care Hospice for their love and care.
