Barbara Freeland

Barbara Holland Lewis Freeland, 90, of Batesburg passed away peacefully Thursday, August 12, 2021. Born in Royal Oak Township, Michigan on April 29, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Kathleen Johnson Holland. Mrs. Freeland worked until her retirement with Batesburg Insurance Agency. After retirement, she and her late husband, Andy, remained very active and loved to travel abroad. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg for 55 years, where she served as church secretary.

Mrs. Freeland is survived by her daughters, Kathy Rogers (Dave), Terri Owen (Bobby) and Carol Lewis. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lynne Lewis; a sister-in-law, Eunice "Tootsie" Holland as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Lewis and late husband, Andrew Freeland; a son, Glenn Lewis; granddaughter, Mary Cathleen Hall; sisters, Doris Smith, Shirley Mills; brothers, Bruce Holland and Tommy Day.

The service for Mrs. Freeland will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Nurse officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Kathy Rogers.
