Bennett Wade Hunter

Bennett Wade Hunter, 59, of Leesville, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 18, at Cherokee Presbyterian Church, 3622 Augusta Hwy., Gilbert, SC with interment in Woodridge Memorial Gardens, 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC conducted by Pastor Liz Cyle.

Mr. Hunter was born in Columbia, SC oldest son of Betty Francis Weed Hunter and the late Virgil Harvey Hunter. He was a graduate of B-L High School, and worked for Whaley Food Service. He enjoyed Native American arts and culture. He truly loved his animals.

Surviving are his wife, “Jerrie” Jeanette Hunter member of Waccmaw Indian People of Aynor, SC; mother, Betty Hunter; sisters, Stephanie Lewis and Renee Cosby; brothers, Randy, Barry and Kenneth Hunter; step children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday, December 17, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Go Fund Me on wife’s Facebook page Jerrie Hunter or mail to Jerrie Hunter, 237 Chippewa Trail, Leesville, SC 29070.
