Broadus Stanmore Johnson, Jr, 86, passed away Sunday, January 10th, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday, January 15th, at Ridge Spring Cemetery with Rev. Bobby Jackson and Rev. John Chambers officiating. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing are encouraged. Active pallbearers will be Crys Lybrand, Don Johnson, Kevin Yon, Kyle Richards, Dray Wannamaker, and Hubert Fox.
Mr. Johnson was born in Monetta, SC, a son of the late Broadus Stanmore Johnson, Sr and Caseline Watkins Johnson. He served in the Army National Guard, he was a Boy Scout, a member of the Jaycees and helped out with the little league program. Mr. Johnson was a faithful member of Ridge Spring Baptist Church, where he served in the church choir. Along with his parents, he owned and operated B.S. Johnson and Son Variety Store for over 60 years. He was a humble and unpretentious man who loved people and loved to talk. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Lona Harris Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Sullivan Johnson and his infant sisters and brother.
The family would like to give a special thanks to The Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Della and Cindy from Transitional Health Hospice for their love and care.
