Cecil O'Neal "Neal" Hall, 67, of Batesburg, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Neal was born in Lexington County, SC, a son of the late Colon and Vaughnta Collum Hall. He was a member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church. Neal was a wonderful husband, father and Pa. His happiness came from his family being happy, but especially his wife, Peggy. He loved her more than anything in this world! Neal had the biggest heart and would do anything for anybody. He loved his children, grandkids and his other companion in life, his dog, Zack. Neal was a hard worker, continuing to work even after his tragic fall that lead to his broken back that took a lot of his quality of life away. His desire to be with his family gave him the strength to carry on. He will be greatly missed by all.
Surviving are his wife of over 50 years, Peggy L. Hall; children, Amy Hall Hendrix (Scott), Missy Hall Lewis (David), and Andy Neal Hall; grandchildren, Michelle Hall, Robert Stills, Jr. (Anna), Tiffany Starnes (Aron), Megan Stills (Dante), Ross Starnes, Anngelina Hall, Gabbrielle Hall, Patrick Lewis, Shaylie Hall and Thomas Cecil Lewis; along with his eight great grandchildren, Zy'Heim Tyamrion Rauch, Joshua Elijah Harris, Graysen Andres Guzman, Teagann Erin Pierce, Michael Kaleb Pierce, Annastyn O'Neal Hall, James O'Neil Stills, Islah Eva "lil meg" Harris and soon to be, Atalaya Cecile O'Neal Hall. Also surviving are his sisters, Cathy Rodgers and Vernita Cockrell; uncle, Cecil Hall "Shorty"; special aunts, Irene McCullough, Lillian Coats "sis"; and brother-in-law, Jr. Leaphart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Retha Hall, Susan McCullough and Vernelle Rankin; brother, Allen Hall; and niece, Angie Rankin.
The funeral service for Neal will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 18th, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with burial immediately following at his home place, 942 Samaria Highway, Batesburg, SC 29006. Rev. Bill Paulling will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at the church. Active pallbearers will be: Robert Stills, Jr., Ross Starnes, Jeff Boley, Neal Deloach, Dean Rankin and Henry Gantt. Honorary pallbearers will be: Randy Barnes, Keith Pierce, Frankie Wise, Bruce Wood, Thomas Lewis and Patrick Lewis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 5 Lion Loop, Batesburg, SC 29006. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family.
