Charles Legrand Birchmore

Charles Legrand Birchmore, 75, of Gilbert, entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Born in Columbia, SC, on July 26, 1949, to the late Stacy O'Neil and Ophelia Timmons Birchmore. Mr. Birchmore was the owner/operator of Charles Birchmore Painting alongside his wife and sons for many years. He loved to camp and enjoyed NASCAR and dirt racing. Mr. Birchmore was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gilbert. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed dearly.

Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Shirley Smith Birchmore; sons, Shannon Birchmore(Angela), Greg Hartley(Jennifer); and daughter, Wendy Hartley; grandchildren, Chris (Brittany), Haley (David), Kayla, Josh (Kelsey), Andrew, Bryana (Zack), and Gatlin; as well as great grandchildren, Faith, Noah, Madison, Nash, Bryson, Hunter, and Zayden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stacy Jr. and Wayne; and sister, Sandra Russell.

The family will greet friends Friday evening, September 20th from 5 until 7 o'clock at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. A private burial will be held at First Baptist Church of Gilbert.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Gilbert, Men's and Women's Mission Fund, 441 Lewis Street, Gilbert, SC 29054.
