Charles Franklin Patterson

Charles Franklin Patterson, 80, of Ridge Spring, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 29, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Ridge Spring Cemetery with Rev. Bill Watkins officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Horne, Danny Strickland, Chris Miller, Steve Jackson, Trey Strickland, Ben Harwell, Cliff Strickland, and Jim Campbell.

Mr. Patterson was born in Hugart, West Virginia, son of the late Fred and Meda Henson Patterson. He was a special friend to the late Dorothy Stoudemayer and the late Frances Collum and their families. Charles was an avid hunter and he loved bluegrass. He was a simple and humble man with a heart of Gold. He touched many lives and leaves his memories for us to cherish.

Surviving are his sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Etta Bryant of Charmco, West Virginia; Nora Frances (Tommy) Hughes of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers and sister-in-law, Willard James Patterson of Ballard, West Virginia; Marion Fredrick (Barbara G.) Patterson of Conway, SC; many nieces and special nephews; and many friends throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his sister, Violet Guyton; and brothers, Basil; Sandy; Orvil; Carry; Nelson and Jessie Patterson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
