Cleo Iva Hallman, 90, of Batesburg, passed away Thursday morning, October 30, 2014 at Azalea Woods Nursing Center in Aiken after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Hallman was born January 19, 1924 in Leesville, SC, the daughter of the late Elzie Clifton and Beatrice Fallaw Hallman. She was married to the late Delbert O. Hallman for 66 years and was a 1942 graduate of Gilbert High School. Mrs. Hallman was employed by the S.C. Forestry Commission and several manufacturing companies, and was a lifelong member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton E. Hallman (Mary Lou); sister, Rachel H. Rish (Norman); two baby sisters, Eunice and Ethylyn Hallman; as well as one baby brother. She is survived by a daughter, Joan H. Boatwright and her husband, Kenneth; grandson, Ashley Boatwright (Holly); granddaughter, Jessica B. Gantt (Joshua); as well as great-grandchildren, Seth and Lily Boatwright; Kensley Gantt; a loving sister, Gertrude H. Rodgers of Ward, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hallman, a loving mother, grandmother, wife, and sister, enjoyed traveling, reading, needlework, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Her family would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Ralph Riley, and the staff of Azalea Woods Nursing Center, the staff of Regency Hospice for their loving care of Mrs. Hallman. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. William Paulling. Burial will be private.
