Coral Philomena Thomas

December 25, 1944 — November 29, 2024

Lexington

Coral Philomena Thomas, 79, of Lexington, peacefully crossed into heaven on the night of November 29, 2024, at her family home in South Carolina. She was born on Christmas Day of 1944 in Chennai, India, to the late Norman and Evelyn Lanney. Coral's life was grounded in her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, which guided her life to be an act of unconditional love and kindness to all she encountered. Her love for family and gathering was at the center of her heart, which was magnificently radiant. Coral loved feeding and caring for anyone and everyone. She was incredibly hard working, wildly generous, fiercely brave, and the essence of beauty in its truest expression.

Coral married Loxley Thomas on December 2, 1967. Together, they and their children voyaged to the United States from India, settling in Endicott, New York for over 40 years before moving to South Carolina. Together, they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. During their life in Endicott, Coral dedicated 25 years of service to IBM before retiring.

Surviving are her three sisters, Celestine, Marie, and Joan; as well as her children Lester Anthony Thomas and his son, Christian; Caron Maria Thomas and her children, Asia and Payton, and grandchildren, Grayson and Oliver; and Cassandra Judy Thomas and her children, Alaina and Camen, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Coral was predeceased by her husband, Loxley Thomas, her eight sisters and a brother, her eldest son, Donford Marquis Thomas, as well as her eldest grandchild, Arielle Marie Brewer.

The life of Coral was celebrated privately amongst her family members.
