Curtis Wayne Potts

July 17, 1962 — November 11, 2021

Curtis Wayne Potts, 59, of Leesville, passed on to that highway in the sky November 11, 2021. A Celebration of Life drop-in will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 20th, at his home, 729 Camp Branch Road, Leesville, SC 29070.

Curt was born on July 17, 1962, in Morristown, N.J., the son of Danny and Donna Potts. He was the owner of Brooks Body Shop, now Brooks Towing and Automotive. Curt embraced life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his family, friends, riding his Harley’s, playing music, foosball, oyster roasts, and cars. He was creative and skilled at enhancing his home and yard, always working on a project. He was always willing to help anyone in anyway he could, he made everyone feel like they were family and welcomed all of his grandchildren’s significant others into his life, lovingly. Curt loved a celebration with family and friends. He loved to make you laugh and was never afraid to laugh at himself. As one of his grandson’s would say, “PaPa Curt’s outspoken mind and dirty jokes won’t soon be forgotten.”

He taught his grandchildren many life lessons. He showed them how to work hard from their childhood into adulthood. He showed them how to have fun and let loose at the same time. One of his grandsons wrote, “Thank you for taking care of and loving our grandma all these years, don’t worry, your family will take care of things now. We love you PaPa.”

Surviving are his loving wife and best friend of 22 years, Donna Jean Potts; mother, Donna Lee Jacobs (Christopher) of Murrells Inlet; sister and brother-in-law, Robin Phelps(Keith); brothers and sister-in-law, Cheryl L. Beier, John B. “Sonny” Smith (Diane E.); Stuart L. Smith (Nicole K.). He is also survived by his children, Norma J. Garrell, Amber D. Harmon, Timothy E. Harris; and grandchildren, Kevin “Hunter” Stroud (Carly), Tristian D. Harmon (Emily), Taylor W. Stroud, Skyyler Harmon, Sean Baylei Harmon, Keityn Harmon, Riley Garrell, Joseph Garrell, Jr, Brooklyn Villella, Ryver Villella, Damien Harris; and great grandson, Colt Reave Harmon. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Danny Potts and a great grandson, Asher Reave Harmon.

Until we meet again ride with the wind and keep my seat warm. We all love you and will miss you dearly.
