David J Tolley, 70 of Ward SC formerly of Sheffield Village Ohio passed away on May 11, 2016 after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 4 1946. He graduated from Brookside High School in 1964 where he held the record for cross country distance running for many years. In 1965 he joined the US Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He also served in Germany, New Mexico, Thailand, and on MB Air Force Base. After working for Granger Generating Station in Conway, SC David moved to Ward where he was a self employed carpenter undertaking many home renovation jobs. He was an avid fisherman placing high in most bass tournaments he entered. He enjoyed baseball and football, his favorite team being The SC Gamecocks.
Dave is survived by his parents Clara and Ralph Padgett of Ohio, daughter, Kristi (Perry) Padgett of NC, son Michael (Paige) Tolley of SC, sister Laurie (Jim) Dore of Ohio, brother Scott (Vicki) Padgett of Ohio, 5 grandchildren, Jonathan, Amber, Ransom, Grace and Clara, 1 great granddaughter, Cassidy, and many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Samuel Tolley and brothers William “Dell' and Dennis "Mickey" Tolley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hungarian United Church of Christ, 1691 East 31st. Street, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
