Donald Jerone "Jerry" Durst

Donald Jerone "Jerry" Durst, 72, of Chapin, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022. Born in Aiken, SC, he was a son of Earline Kneece Durst and the late Willie M. Donnie Durst. He was an avid fisherman and gardener who loved sharing his plants with others. Jerry loved family gatherings, especially when any of his eight grandchildren were there. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and retired plumber. Jerry enjoyed boating on Lake Murray, spending time at Edisto Beach fishing, playing "holey" board in Helen, GA, and bird watching.

Surviving are his mother; wife, Sandra Pereira Durst; children, Derek Durst (Lesslie), Cory Durst (Kim), Jessica Yarborough (Stuart); as well as his eight grandchildren, Rosslyn and Cooper Durst; Nash, Everett and Aria Durst; Briggs, Hank and Kayleigh Yarborough. Also surviving are his brother, Charlie Durst (Linda); sister, Jan Eargle (Kenny); and loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service for Jerry will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 12th, in his garden, located on White Rock Acres Road, Chapin, SC 29036.
