Dorcas S. Corley

Dorcas S. Corley, 90, of West Columbia, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, October 16, at Southside Baptist Church in Columbia with interment in Nazareth United Methodist Church Cemetery in Leesville with Rev. Brian Lee and Rev. Dan Graves officiating.

Active pallbearers are Rusty Corley, Zach Poole, Trey Wingate, Andrew Seay, Frank Poole and Richard Wood.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Corley was born in Leesville, SC daughter of the late Sammie Ballenger Shealy and Lenna Fulmer Shealy. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved working on the Hostess Committee and her greatest joy was spending time with and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was married to the late Leon J. Corley. She worked in textile at Olympia Mills.

Surviving are her son, Leon Wayne Corley (Norma); daughter, Anita “Nikki” C. Sexton; step-daughter, Pat W. Horton(Lee); daughter-in-law, Patricia C. Corley; sister, Lena Duncan; grandchildren: Leon W. (Rusty) Corley Jr., Stacey Wingate, Danielle Corley, Aimee Seay, Kali Barney, Tracy Lopez and Stephanie Archuleta; step-granddaughter, Erica Sexton; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Vardie Duane Corley; daughter, Melinda Kay Corley; brothers, Ingram, Earl Dean, Sam and Paul Shealy.
