Dorette Nadine Landes

Dorette Nadine Landes,87, of Batesburg, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 9th, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Vollie Gibbs will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Landes was born in Saluda, SC , a daughter of the late Sion C. Minick and Lessie Bernice Cameron Minick. She attended Carson-Newman University in Knoxville, Tennessee. While in college Mrs. Landes worked as a part time Librarian with the college. She was a missionary to the deaf and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Ridge Spring.

Surviving are her daughter, Carla Landes and son, Marshall Landes; four grandchildren: Dylan, Dean, Brendan and Marissa Landes. She is also survived by a sister, Lavinia Matthews and two brothers, Sion Minick (Jean) and Duane Minick (Dot); sisters-in-law, Margie Jean Minick and Vera Minick. In addition to her parents and her husband, Robert Marshall Landes, she was preceded in death by brothers, Ansel Minick, Corburn Minick and Dwight Minick.
