Dorinda M. Tardiff

After fighting the effects of a stroke in 2015, our sweet Mom, Dorinda Mae Polatty Tardiff, received her wings and went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 22, 2024. She was 74 years young. Born in Saluda County on March 30, 1950 to the late Theodore and Mattie Johnson Polatty, she helped raise five of her six brothers.

At the age of 15, she found the love of her life and was married to Kenneth Frank Tardiff for 37 years before his passing in 2003. Together they had three children, Don, Russ and Rhonda. Dorinda enjoyed spending time with her family, helping others, working in her yard, but most of all, worshipping her Lord and Savior. Her greatest accomplishment was when she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1995.

She is survived by her children, Don Tardiff (Nikki), Russ Tardiff, and Rhonda Blackmon (Dale); grandchildren, Josh Tardiff (Morgan), Hunter Tardiff, Dallas Tardiff, Bubba Blackmon, Zach Blackmon(Claire) and Beth Smith(Kenny); and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill, Robert, Authur, Frank and Joe Polatty; and a special sister, Freddie Adams; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Kenneth Frank Tardiff, she was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Polatty; grandson, Troy Tardiff; and a great grandchild, "Peanut".

A graveside service for Mrs. Tardiff will be held at 11:00 am., on Saturday, May 25th at the Billy Matthews Cemetery, Double Bridges Road, Batesburg with the Rev. David Cockrell officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the graveside.

The family would like to thank Mom's bonus granddaughter, Holly Valandingham (Ruben) and Gentiva Hospice for the being there and caring for mom.
