Dorothy Lois Jones Phillips

Dorothy Lois Jones Phillips, 78, of Leesville passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and daughters by her side, on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Born in Aiken County, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Havird Jones Sr. and Gertrude Louise Rodgers Jones. She retired from the Aiken County School System as a speech pathologist, where she poured her heart and soul into the children she served. She was truly an angel on earth who saw the good in others, loved with all she had and made the world a more beautiful place.

She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 53 years, Gary William Phillips; daughters, Gariane Phillips Gunter (Tracy Capers Gunter, III) and Hilery Phillips. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Isabella Grace and Tracy Capers Gunter, IV; as well as her sisters, Brenda Kay Jones Fallaw, Maggie Eleanor Jones Fox, Carolyn Louise Jones and brother, Clyde “Sonny” Havird Jones, Jr. (Brenda Franklin Jones); along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members who will cherish the special times shared and memories made . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary William Phillips, Jr.

A private family graveside service will be held at Ridge Crest Memorial Park with lifelong friend, the Rev. Michael Price officiating.
