Dr. Gurdon Wright Counts, Jr

Dr. Gurdon W. Counts, Jr. 83, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017. Memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 12, at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Lisa Isenhower officiating. Visitation will be held after the service at the church, other times at the home of Walter & Brenda Counts, 248 Summerland Ave, Batesburg, SC 29006.

Dr. Counts was born in Prosperity, SC, son of the late Gurdon W. Counts, Sr and Violet Epting Counts Nichols. He was married to the late Elizabeth Mae Rickenbacker Counts. Dr. Counts retired in May after practicing in the Batesburg-Leesville Community for 53 years.

Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Gurdon W. (Andrea) Counts III; Karl Frederick (Kathy) Counts; Walter Ernest (Brenda) Counts; Philip Jerome Counts; Anthony James “Tony” (Karen) Counts, Sr; grandchildren, Sarah, Laura, Kaitlin, Jackson, Erick and Anthony James “AJ” Counts, Jr. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard “Dick” Counts and Philip Counts.
