Elaine Keisler Wheeler, 74, of Batesburg, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. Mrs. Wheeler was born in Lexington County, a daughter of the late John Calvin and Ollie Mae Courtney Keisler. She was married to the late Billy Wheeler. Mrs. Wheeler was an active member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church where she served on the WMU, VBS, Hostess Committee, Acteens for Girls Teacher, the Awana Program, Sunday School Teacher and with the nursery. She was an avid caretaker and homemaker. Mrs. Wheeler drove a school bus and was a substitute teacher for Ridge Spring-Monetta Schools. She was a volunteer fireman for Sandy Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and an EMT for the Batesburg-Leesville Rescue Squad.
Surviving are her children, Dean Wheeler (Daisy), Kim Whitfield (Lester); brother-in-law and buddy, Clarence Wheeler; grandchildren, John Wheeler (Tiffany), Zachary Wheeler (Erin), Austin, Brad and Alyssa Whitfield; and great grandchildren, Arianna Wheeler, Kayleigh Wood, Mason Wheeler and Jathan Wheeler. She is also survived by her siblings, Jesse Keisler (Betty), Karl Keisler (Diana), Calvin Keisler (Bonnie), Frances Nappier (Wallace), Patricia Campbell, Clyde Keisler Jr., Katie Yeager, and Debbie Wise. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael John Wheeler; and siblings, Maurice Keisler, Willie Keisler and Clyde Keisler Sr.
A memorial service for Mrs. Elaine will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 24th at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Paulling and Rev. Bill Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Kim. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, 5 Lion Loop, Batesburg, SC 29006 or a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Daisy Wheeler, Patricia Campbell, Lester Whitfield, and Agape Hospice House, Columbia Branch for all their love and care for Mrs. Wheeler. They would also like to give an extra special thanks to Clarence for his continuous care and support.
