Elizabeth "Ann" Powell

Elizabeth "Ann" Hallman Powell, 79, of Batesburg, SC, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, at her home. Born in Aiken County on July 26, 1944, she was a daughter to the late Graham and Queenie Waters Hallman. Mrs. Powell was a faithful member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, where she was a devoted Christian and was known as everyone's Nanny.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Marvin E. Powell, Sr.; sons, Marvin "Johnny" Powell, Jr. (Karla), David Cleveland Powell (Gina), and John Eric Powell (Crystal); daughters, Julie Ann Sanders (Reid), Jamie Lynn Moak (Dennis); ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Powell is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Westmoreland; brother, Todd Hallman (Sadie); as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members; and her beloved four-legged companion, Ginger. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Hallman and Lenwood Hallman.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Powell will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12th, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, with the Reverend Kyle Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Powell's grandsons, Michael Swygert, Michael Powell, Bryan Powell, Danny Steele, Nathan Moak, and Corey Powell.
