Estelle Fallaw Shealy Smith

June 3, 1916 — September 5, 2017

Estelle Fallaw Shealy Smith, 101, of Batesburg, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, September 8, at Providence Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Larry Pitts, Dr. Elton Dunbar, Rev. Tom Mims and Rev. Frank Mims officiating. Active pallbearers will be Kyle Shealy, Brad Shealy, Brian Shealy, Darrin Shealy, 1st Sergeant “Ret” Hugh Gregg Coats, Neal Coats, Technical Sergeant Christopher Ryerson and Private Marian Hezabel Coats-Reyes. Honorary friends will be Barbara Clary, Maria Cockrell, Jerry Carswell, Jimmy Jones, Lois Baughman, Bertha Walker, Winston Miller and Shirley Padgett.

Mrs. Smith was born in Leesville, SC, daughter of the late Tillman B. and Ella Smith Fallaw. She was married to the late James Oneal Shealy and her second husband, the late Carl Dewey Smith. Mrs. Smith was the longest living member and a charter member of Providence Baptist Church. She won many ribbons at the SC State Fair for her crochet quilts. She loved working in her garden. In her later years she enjoyed her word search books and talking on the phone to friends.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, James Milton (Eleanor) Shealy; daughters, Loretta Dunham, Juanita Shealy; step-daughter, Margaret Smith; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Blandon Shealy; brother, Horace T. Fallaw; sisters, Ethel Inez Smith; Virgie Watson; Mary Risinger; and granddaughter, Regina “Gina” Shealy Gunter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 7, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at her home. Condolences may be expressed at miltonshealy.com.
