Eugene "Shot Gun" Alexander Slade

Eugene "Shot Gun" Alexander Slade, 82, of Batesburg, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 4, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery with Rev. Bill Paulling officiating. Mr. Slade was born in Bluefield, VA son of the late John and Marie Hansen Slade. He was a member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church. He was a Navy Veteran and member of DAV. Surviving are his daughters, Cynthia Slade Bartolec; Jennifer Lynn Slade Rude; brothers, Cecil and Donald Slade; sisters, Patsy Ergle; Peggie Ergle; Lois Timmons; Dixie Mix; six grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Slade Shealy and a sister, Lorena Bledsoe. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
