Floyd Derrick

Floyd Junior Derrick, 79, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 12th, at Union Lutheran Church Cemetery. The Pastor Brandon will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Larry Taylor, Gerald Smith, Mike Derrick, Doug White, Wesley Goff, and Alan Whitman.

Mr. Derrick was born in Leesville, SC, a son of the late Marion Luther and Lilar Taylor Derrick. He was married to the late Lavonia Johnson Strickland. Mr. Derrick loved to spread joy through the community by delivering produce to everyone with a smile! He would always tell a joke to make people laugh. Mr. Derrick also enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are his daughters, Retha Goff (Clint) of Batesburg, Rita Hudson (Mike) of Leesville, Rene O'Gara (Dan) of Wisconsin, Heather Mixson (Leigh) of Boling Springs; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sisters, Sadie White of Saluda, Geraldine Price of Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his previous spouse, Mary Yenny Derrick, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday, July 11th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
