Frank Bramlet Bledsoe, 90, of Batesburg, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M., on Sunday, February 13th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with interment to follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. The Rev. Jud Hook will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be: Keith Bledsoe, Russell Hook, Daren McCreery, Chris Miller, Robert Smoak and Calvin Williamson.
Mr. Bledsoe was born in Saluda County, a son of the late Joseph McMillan and Lona Burton Bledsoe. He was married to the late Ruth Adlyne "Sam" Bledsoe for 66 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg, the B-L Masonic Lodge #138 and a member of Sudan Shrine Temple, New Bern, NC. Mr. Bledsoe started his military career in the United States Navy and later retired from the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at Richland Memorial Hospital where he grew the clinical engineering department as the director. He then became co-owner of Alva Gwyn Inc., where he worked until his passing.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen Dickert of Lexington; and granddaughter, Jessi Dickert of Columbia. Also surviving are his brother, Joesph "Joe" (Gale) Bledsoe; sister, Emilie B. Reames; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, L.M. and Harold Bledsoe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Batesburg, 436 West Church Street, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006, Colonial Gardens Alzheimer's Care, 3565 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169 or a charity of one's choice.
