Gerald Ray Padgett

Gerald Ray Padgett, 75, of Leesville, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 28, at Pauline Church of Christ in Leesville with Rev. Rick Farwell officiating. Active pallbearers are Anthony Smith, Tim Kyzer, Derwin Shumpert, William Anders, Brent Shumpert and Rami Al-Emam. Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM Wednesday, prior to the service at the church.

Gerald was the son of the late Leon and Katherine Padgett. He was a member of Pauline Church of Christ. He was self-employed farmer. He had 35 years of service with the Fairview Fire Department as Captain and 10 years with Pelion Rescue Squad. He was part-time carpenter, crafter, story teller and a master gardener. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Annette Shumpert Padgett; sons, Dennis (Marcia) Padgett; Trevor (Penny) Padgett; sister, Willette Taylor; grandchildren: Macey Padgett, Cameron (Guy) Ramsey, Eli Padgett and Lee Padgett; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Ricky Padgett.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude’s or charity of one’s choice.
