Hattie Mae Storey

Hattie Mae Storey, 83 years old, died Friday, May 4, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital. Born in Ward, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther Rodgers and Leila Storey Rodgers. She was the wife of the late Luther Charlie Storey of Ward.

Mrs. Storey worked in the textile industry for 40 years. She loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a member of Ridge Spring Baptist Church.

Surviving are her two daughters, Evelyn Powell of Saluda, Edith Storey of Seale, AL; three sons, Leon (Patty) Rodgers of Clover, Charles (Marsha) Storey of Ward, Clark Storey of Batesburg; one sister, Annie Ruth Satcher of Ward; three brothers, Luther “Buddy” (Helen) Rodgers of Saluda, Johnny Rodgers of Ward, Jerry (Vickie) Rodgers of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Storey was preceded in death by her brother, Dewey Rodgers and a sister, Ruby Proctor.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 7, at Ridge Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Jackson and Rev. Louie Murray officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Casey Berry, Brad Gunter, Roy Gunter, Tommy Gunter, Anthony Powell, Alvin Norris, Britt Stone and Britton Stone.
