Imon S. Shealy, 84, of Leesville, passed away on Thursday, July 27th after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Enoree Corley Shealy Taylor and John William Shealy.
Mr. Shealy was an active member of First Calvary Baptist Church, the Bible Fellowship Sunday School Class, and a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict, former Meals on Wheels assistant, and a retiree of Michelin North America. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his niece, Karen Taylor Gabert and his adored great niece, Peri Ward. He is also survived by two sisters in law, Linda Taylor and BillieTaylor. His faithful caregivers; Wayne Bodie, Anthony Bodie and Brianna Govea and his canine companion, Patches.
He was predeceased by his wife, Emmie Lee Taylor Shealy; brother, John Shealy; sisters Clorine Batchelor, Inaweeze Shealy, and Infant Baby Girl Shealy; half sister, Nathalie Price; half brother Frankie Taylor; step brothers, Ralph, JT, Omar, DC, Kerney and Garvin Taylor; step sister, Roxie Corley.
Visitation will be held at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, Batesburg on Saturday, July 29th from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 30th at 3pm at First Calvary Baptist Church, Leesville with burial immediately following the service at Grace Lutheran Church, Gilbert with Military Honors.
Pallbearers will be Reggie Ward, Eddie Taylor, Frankie Taylor, Donnie Cason, Jack Herring, and Gerald Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bible Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be made to First Calvary Baptist Church.
