Irene Gunter

Our Sweet Mama/Grandma, Irene Gunter, 84, of Batesburg, went home to be with our Heavenly Father, Sunday, April 19, 2015. "No More Pain" Born June 23, 1930, in Lexington County, she was the daughter of Wayne B. Gunter and Rose Corder. Surviving are her daughters, Mrs. John Wendell (Cindy) Shealy of West Columbia; Gloria Ross of Bateburg; sons, C. Norman Whitman III; Duett Whitman; and Duane Whitman all of Batesburg; a sister, Margine Shumpert of Leesville; four grandchildren, Dedra (Mike) Hickman; Kenneth Shealy; Amanda (Gaines) Wansley; Leslie Whitman; and six great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 25, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Mims officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Praise Church on Pond Branch Road.
