James Homer Burkett

James Homer Burkett, 76, of Batesburg, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Born in Leesville, SC, he was the son of the late Claude S. and Vesta Rikard Burkett. Homer dedicated many years to working in maintenance at Michelin Tire Corporation US 5. A true jack of all trades, he was known for his resourcefulness and ability to fix just about anything.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wanda B. Burkett of the home; his brother, Calvin Burkett (Rose) of Aiken; brothers-in-law, Thomas "Red" Bedenbaugh (Trish) and Terry L. Bedenbaugh (Kelly), both of Ward; and sister-in-law, Twanna Bedenbaugh of Batesburg. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly.
Family, friends and anyone who knew Homer is welcome to gather for breakfast in his honor at 8:00 AM on April 12th at Shealy’s BBQ, to share memories and celebrate his life.
