James Carder, 55, of Batesburg, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 after a lengthy illness. A memorial service and visitation will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 22nd, at the family plot at the Batesburg Cemetery with Rev. Teddy Higgins officiating. Mr. Carder was born in Hinesville, Georgia, and was a son of Shirley Lybrand Carder and the late Taylor “Tick” Carder. Before his illness James was an electrician and a commercial fisherman. He was a friend to many, and passionately enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.
He loved his family and his legacy will “shine on” with the lights of his life, his daughter, Stormi Bostic and grandson, Quest Bostic of Charleston, WV. He is also survived by his companion, caregiver, and best friend, Brandy Miller of Batesburg; his mother, Shirley Carder of Batesburg; brothers, Ashley Carder and his wife, Carolyn of Leesville, Richard Carder of Batesburg; his sisters, Brenda Counts and her husband, Walter of Batesburg and Kim Huggins and her husband, Joel of Lexington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was predeceased by his father, Taylor Carder.
