James Gunter Sr.

James Reedy Gunter, Sr., 68, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Mr. Gunter was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late Drayton and Estelle Rodgers Gunter. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed woodworking and farming. Mr. Gunter spent his last years in the care of Kathie Smith, whom the family is very appreciative of the love and kindness she has shown to him.

Surviving are his children, James Reedy Gunter, Jr., Rachel Gunter Garcia, Vincent Gaelin Gunter, and Grayson Kelly Gunter; two grandchildren, Peyton Gunter and Savannah Garcia. He is also survived by his siblings, Martin Gunter, Mildred Gunter Poole and Barbara Barr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ansel Gunter.

The graveside service for Mr. Gunter will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 27th at Oaklawn Cemetery, 1200 Pine Street, Pelion, SC. The family will greet friends immediately following at the graveside.
