James Michael Edwards

James Michael Edwards, 57, of Gaston, SC, known lovingly by Michael, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Michael was born on March 14, 1966 in Decatur, Alabama to Mary Evelyn Edwards and the late James Franklin Edwards . He was a wonderful father, son, grandfather, and brother. Michael loved all things cars and racing. A mechanic by trade, he spent most of his time in his shop at his house, listening to AC/DC while working on cars for friends, family, and of course, for drag racing at the strip on the weekends. He also loved playing a game of pool with his friends and daughters.

Michael was deeply loved by his daughters: Danyelle (Travis), Selina, Samantha, Rachel and Emily Edwards; his longtime girlfriend, Beth; his grandchildren: Cole, Grayson, Dylan, Hayley; step-children: Brittany (Cole), Zak (Gabrielle), DJ, Betty, Christopher; and step-grandchildren: Owen, Addison, Taylor, Johnathan, Madison, McKenna; and step great-grandchild, Derek. His mother, Evelyn Edwards and his siblings: Tammy, Teresa and Scotty Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy” Edwards.

The service for Michael will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home,115 N. Pine Street, Batesburg, SC 29006. Friends and family are invited to greet the family one hour prior to the service from 2 until 3:00 p.m.
