James Pou

James "Jimmy" Wilks Pou, 67, of Saluda, SC, passed away at Lexington Medical Center on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, after a long illness. Jimmy was a son of the late James W. Pou and Mary Wilks Pou. A 1972 graduate of Saluda High School, Jimmy attended Piedmont Technical College and graduated from Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in 1974. Like his father, Jimmy was a farmer as well as a jeweler. He had cows and chickens for many years and worked at Friedman's Jewelers, Saluda Jewelry Company, and Tidwell's. Jimmy joined Red Bank Baptist Church at a young age and was a charter member of Saluda Baptist Church and later joined Emory United Methodist Church. He loved animals, music and football.

He is survived by his son, James Wesley Pou (Katherine) of Columbia, SC and a daughter, Diana Wilks Pou Woodall (Alan) of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Lou Burriss (Bill); a brother, John (Candy) Pou; and his former wife, Dawn Hopkins Pou all of Saluda. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William "Will" Pou.

A visitation will be held at the home of John and Candice Pou, 391 Posey Road, Saluda, SC 29138 on Saturday, August 20th from 3:30 until 6:30. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family.
