Jimmy F. Rodgers, 87, of Batesburg, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023. Mr. Rodgers was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late Frank and Ruth Corley Rodgers. He was a faithful member of Mt. Ebal Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Mr. Rodgers was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved to farm. He was a dedicated father and grandfather that will be missed by many.
Mr. Rodgers served his country in the US Air Force as a fireman for many years. He later worked as a fireman at both Fort Jackson and the Columbia airport in the same capacity until his retirement.
Surviving are his sons, Ted Rodgers (Susan), Terry Rodgers (Tilda) , and Frank Rodgers (Sheryl). He is also survived by his brother, Ray Rodgers and daughter-in-law, Cathy Rodgers; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great great grands. In addition to his parents and wife, Annette B. Rodgers, Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Rodgers; grandson, Christopher Rodgers; and sisters, Mureil Hall and Peggy Douglas
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 25, at Mt. Ebal Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Harmon officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 until 3:00 pm prior to the service beginning in the church activity building.
