John Edward Trotter

John Edward Trotter, 86, of Batesburg, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Mr. Trotter was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late John L. and Alleen Kneece Trotter. He was married to the late Shirley Frances Johnson Trotter. Mr. Trotter served in the United States Navy for 4 years and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years traveling the world raising his family until his retirement. Moving from state to state, country to country and proudly serving during the Korean War and the Vietnam war.

Surviving are his daughter, Sherry Ann Trotter Waters of Aiken; three sons, Richard A. Trotter, Ronald D. Trotter (Joyce), David L. Trotter (Emily) all of Lexington; as well as his grandchildren, Bryan Trotter, Kyle Trotter (Gracie), Kayla Arave (Cody), Chet Trotter (Latisha), Elizabeth Trotter, Jessika Johnson; great grandchildren, Mia Trotter, Liam Arave, Madison Arave, Talulah Arave, Walter Trotter, Lilly Mae Trotter, and soon to be great grandson, Henry Williams Trotter. Also surviving are his siblings, Yvonne Benton, Marie Wilson and William Trotter. In addition to his parents and his wife, Shirley, he was preceded in death by his oldest son, John E. Trotter, Jr.

The funeral service for Mr. Trotter will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with interment to follow in New Holland Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home. Active pallbearers will be his sons: Richard, Ronald, and David and grandsons: Bryan, Kyle and Chet Trotter.
