John Lewis Corder

John Lewis Corder, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 25, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment in Gunter Cemetery with Rev. Justin Eshleman officiating.

Active pallbearers will be the men of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers are Bethlehem Baptist Church Senior Adult Class.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Corder was born in Augusta, GA son of the late Andrew Wellens Corder and Luvenia Willis Corder. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. He owned and operated Corder’s Body Shop.

Surviving are his wife, Josephine I. Goff Corder; daughters, Virginia Lee (Tommy) Bodie; Donna Carol (Thomas) Corder; daughter-in-law, Gwen Corder; sister, Melinda Corder (Harold) Fox; brother, David Wendell Corder; grandchildren: Jason Bodie, Marcus Corder (Dana), Jessica Jeffcoat and Jonathan Corder ; and great grandchildren: Hailey Jeffcoat, Alyana Jeffcoat and Malcolm Corder.

He was predeceased by sons, John Wayne Corder; Timothy Glenn Corder; Christopher Don Corder; sister, Sarah Lou Corder; brother, Melvin Thomas Corder.
