Kenneth "Joe" Marlowe, 74, of Aiken, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Born on May 17, 1950, in York, South Carolina, Kenneth was a son of the late Dolphus and Annie Mae Marlowe. Kenneth spent his life honing the craft of carpentry, a skill that he not only mastered but also found immense joy in. His love for woodworking was matched only by his appreciation for the great outdoors in the sunshine as well as fishing. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his sons, Joseph Marlowe Jr. (Pat) of Monetta, and Kenneth Marlowe (Kim) of Ridge Spring; his daughters, Linda Huggins of Aiken, Tammy Johnson of Benson, NC, and Candy Barnes (Dock) of Ridge Spring. He leaves behind 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, who will forever carry the memory of their beloved grandfather. Kenneth is also survived by his dear friend and companion, Elva Randall, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will all miss his warmth and presence.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Carol "Mary" Jane Marlowe, and his siblings, Margaret Boseman, Elizabeth Russell, Johnny Marlowe, and Charles Marlowe. He is also reunited in rest with his grandchildren, Matthew Ryan Jordan and Kimberly Johnson.
The service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held at 6 o'clock, Saturday evening, December 28th at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with the Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service from 5 until 6 o'clock at the funeral home.
