Larry Howard Craft, 75, of Pelion, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 14, 1947 to the late Harvey and Mary Lucas Craft. Mr. Craft was a graduate of Pelion High School, where he excelled in sports. He retired from Shaw Industries, formerly Allied Signal. Mr. Craft was a devoted fan of the Carolina Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves and Boston Celtics and loved game shows. He was affectionately known as "Lala" by his family who he loved unconditionally. Mr. Craft was a member of Edmund First Baptist Church.
In addition to his loving wife of 56 years, Helen Lucas Craft, he leaves behind two children, Kim (Doug) Berry of Pelion and Kyle (Sonya) Craft of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Candace (Crystal) Berry, Brittany (David) Hellman, Mikayla (Jordan Lindler) Berry, Ron Berry, Tamara (Jacob) Bowdler, Kellen (Leslie) Craft and Brooke (Adam) Spires; eight great grandchildren, Lucas Hellman, Willow, Baylee and Palmer Bowdler, Hallie Jo, Declan and Rhett Craft, Jett Spires and Danielle (Jessica) Strickland; and a great great grandchild, Emery Johnson. Mr. Craft is also survived by his brothers, Jackie and Stephen Craft of Pelion as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service for Mr. Craft will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23rd at Edmund First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brandon Phillips and Rev. Kenneth Prill officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m in the sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
The family would like to thank Chris Parola with MSA Hospice for his care and compassion shown in the recent weeks to Mr. Craft and family.
