Lewis Jackson Oswald, 77, of Batesburg, passed away Monday February 8, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 11, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Kneece Family Cemetery with Rev. Bill Watkins officiating. Active pallbearers will be Larry Wheeler, Stanley Whittle, L.C. Smith, Jr., Charlie Oswald, Dean Oswalt, and Carl Burgess Mr. Oswald was born in Batesburg, SC, son of the late Ralph and Sophie Watkins Oswald. He was married to the late Annie Mae Smith Oswald. He retired from SCDOT as an engineer after 36 years of service. He was a graduate of Ridge Spring Monetta High School Class of 1957. Mr. Oswald was a veteran of the Army and National Guard. Surviving are his son, Jamie Oswald; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry Ann Oswald (George) Storey; Angela Oswald (Walker) Shealy; Cindy Delores Oswald; Sylvia Gween Oswald (Brian) Lindler; Lori Lynn (Rick) Register; grandchildren, Brittany Alyson Storey; Jonathan Patrick Lindler; Victoria Storey (Anthony) Miller; Ashley Morgan Lindler; Baylee Alisabeth Shealy; Alexis Paige Register; and brother and sister-in-law, Bill (Patsy) Oswalt. He was preceded in death by brothers, James W.; Ralph D.; and Rudolph Oswald; and sisters, Lorene Wheeler; Frances Whittle; and Lois Spradley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home, other times at his home.
