Louise Anderson Clamp Waits

Louise Waits, 91, of Leesville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 27, 2015. She passed away at the home of her daughter Linda Whittle, her caregiver. She was born on May 14, 1924 in Lexington County, to the late Hubert "Hub" and Ora Lee Anderson. Mrs. Waits retired from J.B. Martin Co. and Jackie Hites B.B.Q. Her hobbies were "find a word" puzzle book, growing vegetables, planting flowers and making sweet potato pies for the ones she loved. She was known as "Granny" by all. Louise was one of the oldest members of First Baptist Church of Leesville where you could find her most every Sunday, always having a smile on her face. She dearly loved the Lord and her family. She left to cherish her fond memories are her daughters, Joyce (Frank) Fink; Linda Whittle; Jane (Mike) Ricard; foster son, Tommy Oswald; seventeen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; and three unborn great great grands; niece, Barbara (Jim) Reaves; nephews, Wilbur (Gloria) Smith; Brent (Nita) Chapman; Bruce (Sandy) Chapman; and Robert Smith. She is preceded in death by J. Belton Clamp, the father of her children; daughters and son-in-law, Mildred (Brother) Bedenbaugh; Debbie Clamp; son-in-law, Cecil Whittle; and sister, Lucille Branham. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Leesville with interment in Clamp Cemetery with Pastor Charles Leonhardt and Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 30, before the service at the church, other times at the home of her daughter, Linda Whittle. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Willing Workers Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Leesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tri-County Hospice of Newbery or a charity of one's choice. A special thanks to Tri-County of Newbery and Mrs. Susan Hallman for her loving care of Granny.
