Louise Kirkland Watkins Smith

Louise Kirkland Watkins Smith, 99, of Batesburg, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Batesburg with interment in Batesburg Cemetery with Rev. Henry Stamper officiating. Active pallbearers are Will Trotter, Jimmy Trotter, Bart Cochcroft, Larry Cochcroft, Benji Kirkland and Donnie Kirkland.

Mrs. Smith was born in Batesburg, SC daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Kirkland and Gelina Falls Hall. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Batesburg. She was the widow of the late Wilson Smith. She retired from J.B. Martin.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Roy F. Watkins and wife, Pat of Leesville; grandchildren: Ronette (Jimmy) Trotter of Saluda, Dawn Watkins of Columbia and Chris McLain of Leesville; great grandchildren: Will, Carrie Rose, and Allie Lynn Trotter; special family friend, Allison Findley of Columbia.

Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Annie McCarty, Estelle Boland, Lucille Cochcroft; brothers, Harvey Kirkland, Lewis Kirkland and Perry Kirkland; her first husband, Roy Franklin Watkins and her second husband, Wilson Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, January 29, 2018 at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
