Lucy Lawson Temples

Lucy Lawson Temples, 82, of Batesburg, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. She was born in Leesville, SC, a daughter of the late William and Girlie Mae Rowe Lawson. Mrs. Lucy was married to the late Verbe Temples. She was a member of Hulon Baptist Church and enjoyed "loafing" and shopping. Mrs. Lucy had an unwavering love for her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her children, Russell Temples (Alisha), Judy Casey (Deron), Wanda Addy (Danny) and Wallace Temples (Melanie); eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Curlie, Ted and Norell "Zero" Lawson; along with numerous extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Etheleen Puckett, Colie Lawson, Bobby "Cabbage" Lawson, Margaret Lawson, Jackie Lawson and Jerry "Chucky" Lawson.

The memorial service for Mrs. Lucy will be held at 1 PM on Friday, August 23rd at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends following. Mr. Michael Kneece and Mrs. Beverly Taylor will conduct the service. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons: Brandon Corder, Andrew Temples, Cory Rish, Roston Temples, Ray Temples, Bailey Crouch and Landon Corder.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 2901 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203, or a children's charity of choice. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Megan, Kim and Ashley for their love and support of Mrs. Lucy.
