Margie Mills Steele

Mrs. Margie Steele, 78, of Leesville, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Steele was born in Aiken, SC a daughter of the late Lester and Evelyn Mills. She was a long time employee of the former Union Switch and Signal plant in Batesburg, SC. Mrs. Margie was a long time member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Leesville.

Surviving are her beloved husband, John Steele, Sr.; son, Jason Steele (Renee); daughters, Renee Gantt (Steve) and Denise Steele (Howard); grandchildren, Chelsea Steele-Scaggs (Brett), Hailey Gresham (Nick), Zach Hook, Cassidy Gantt-Hollis (Michael), Johnathon Steele (Alexia) and Brycen Steele; as well as great grands, Evelyn Grace, Riley and Carson and soon-to-be, Julie Renee Hollis. Also surviving her brother, Jr. Mills (Sharlene); sister, Dorothy Gunter; and nephews, Hayward(Cathy), Darel (Dora); (Danny-deceased) Michelle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, John "Johnny" Steele, Jr; and nephews, Jamie Mills.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Agape Hospice House in Lexington for all their love and care for their loved one and the family members during this difficult time. "We surely could not have done this without them" said by family.
