Marie Easler Cockrell

Marie Easler Cockrell, 70, of Saluda, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. Mrs. Cockrell was born in Saluda, SC, a daughter of the late Dorothy Rodgers Cockrell and Dudley Easler. She was a former employee of Greenwood Mills, Department of Veteran Affairs and Saluda County School District. She was a member of B-L Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Cockrell's greatest joy was her grandbabies and family. She loved to crochet and spend time with her loved ones. Everyone who knew her loved her and she never met a stranger. She was fiercely loved and will be forever missed!

Surviving are her husband, Shurmond Cockrell; children, Kim Nicholson (John), Lisa Rikard (DJ) and Calvin Rikard (Lindsay); grandkids, Amber Key (Colton), Kodie Myers, Natalie Rikard, Kelby Rikard, Asher Rikard, Micah Rikard, Faith Wideman(Zack) and Hope Justus (Devin); and great grandchildren, Grayson Hartley, Naomi Key, Emory Myers, Magnolia Key, and Marlee Justus. Also surviving are her siblings, Betty Porter, Oscar Easler, Joyce Steele, Floree Douglas, Dud Easler, Mary Jane Steele, Darlene Williams, Sam Easler, Jake Easler, and Anna Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Wayne Easler.

A memorial service for Mrs. Marie will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 21st at B-L Congregational Holiness Church, 147 Dickert Drive, Batesburg, SC 29006. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to B-L Congregational Holiness Church.
