Marie Mccarty

Marie McCarty, 67, of Batesburg, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Ms. McCarty was born in Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Thomas Lee and Frances "Bill" Buzhardt McCarty. Marie was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She loved crocheting, word searches, and puzzles.

Surviving are her brother, Gene McCarty; and special cousins, Tabitha Kneece (John) and their daughters, Keegan and Mia Kneece and soon-to-be son. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Carol Lee McCarty.

The funeral service for Ms. McCarty will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 10th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home with interment in Batesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Culbertson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service beginning. Active pallbearers will be: Troy Buzhardt, Simon Buzhardt, Barron Buzhardt, Mike McCarty, Van McCarty, and Mitch McCarty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2427, Leesville, SC 29070. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Saluda Nursing Center and Rehab for all of their care and support for Ms. McCarty.
