Marvin Richard Collum

Marvin Richard Collum, 76, of Batesburg, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023. Mr. Collum was born in Batesburg, SC, a son of the late Julius Carlee and Edith Warren Collum. He was a faithful member of Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served for 16 years as a deacon and elder. Mr. Collum retired from Greenwood Mills "Adams Plant" after 40 years of service. He loved camping, fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Pearl G. Collum; children, Daisy Wheeler (Dean) of Batesburg, William R. Collum (Shauna) of Pelion; grandchildren, John Wheeler (Tiffany), Zachary Wheeler (Erin), Kelly Grace Collum; and great grandchildren, Arianna Wheeler, Kayleigh Wood, Mason Wheeler and Jathan Wheeler. Also surviving are his siblings, Larry Collum of Greenwood, Bo Turner, Judy Spradley, Mary Burnett and Pasty Turner all of Batesburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Buck" Collum.

The memorial service for Mr. Collum will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, August 11th at Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Louie Murray and Rev. James James officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10th, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home.
